After a backyard birthday party that included one of those giant inflatable water slides we drove through the historic downtown district in Glen Rose. We parked at the square and we went to a family owned nostalgic soda shop. It had the classic bar with stools and the chalk menus featuring American classic items.
Here Is The Scoop
I ordered the Salted Carmel flavor of Ice Cream and it was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered an old fashion Dr. Pepper Ice Cream Float. It reminded me of a cozy little drugstore soda fountain place that I frequented when I was a child. We sat at the diner style dining tables. I did not want to risk the girls to fall off the spinning bar stools. They already had smacked into each other pretty hard from the slide at the party. It was nice to see others enjoy sitting at the bar to enjoy an old fashioned malt or have an early dinner.
Unique Gifts to Wear and Charming Decor
Although, my kids were there for the toys. The staff was very nice and patient with our party of 5. My little minions had tunnel vision and explored all that they could. In their mind they think it is a toy store and everything is fair game to play. There was a rack of sunglasses for adults AND KIDS. Jellies, pickled jarred goods, handmade soaps and other organic products that you may see at a local farmer’s market.

It is so nice to see local businesses supporting the local schools with spirit shirts. Throughout the store you can shop a variety of apparel, hats to home decor and farmhouse style signage. Wall to wall of items that included 80’s games like Light Bright, Melissa and Doug Toys and some educational games too.
