Boyd Farm Venue

Fabulous location for indoor and/or outdoor events with a rustic modern feel for family style dining to luxury cabin accommodations.

I had the pleasure of experiencing the Grand Opening of Boyd Farm in Lavon, Texas. This rural property is located right off of Hwy 205 and minutes away from Hwy 78. It has a respectable history that you can read about in the Blue Ribbon News.

Upon my arrival, I was greeted by carolers and I got to see guests enjoying the night sky on the outdoor lounge area. The event center has a country feel with a wrap around porch. The enclosed main hall has many glass doors, wooden high ceilings and plenty of space to get your groove on the dance floor. Several vendors such as The Rose Coffee Cart served their craft delights.

The clean modern bar is a few feet away from the main hall where I grabbed a margarita and enjoyed all the fine hors d’oeuvres creation by Farm Haus Catering. Cute mini hamburgers, shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs, bacon wrapped brisket jalepenos, potato shots, beef wellington and my personal fav were the fish tacos.

The main dining was catered by Blue Fire Total Catering who served farm to table fresh food. Guests easily visited the serving station for brisket, ribs, enchiladas, roasted assorted vegetables, martini glasses of sweet potato and/or potato with all the trimmings.

For dessert, I tried the Soft Swirlz vanilla with decadent chocolate and salted carmel. All the vendors provided excellent services and were so personable to the guests.

The live entertainment Jordan Jahn Orchestra – ROCKED IT!!! I hope to see them at future events. They sure bring a whole new expectation of LIVE ENTERTAINMENT!!! They played a variety of songs from the 90’s, classics, oldies, pop, but the best part is when they did mash ups. The lead singers got down off the stage and danced with many guests on the dance floor. There is just something special about having all those instrumentals playing our favorite songs!

I happened to snap a photo of Joe cutting his thirty-nine year old daughters cheesecake at the bar and joined in singing her a happy birthday. The Boyd family really designed many of the details that remind us of the property’s charming agricultural heritage. After dinner, dancing and drinks to end the night was fireworks behind the outdoor concert pavilion. The property is stunning with gorgeous renovated cabins. It is certainly a historic one-of-a-kind event venue perfect for a corporate retreat, private party, festivals, a wedding and more.

The property is a 42-acre ranch that has a 5200 sq. ft. event center. The main house is a remodeled 2500 sq. ft. and seven newly remodeled two bedroom cabins. The cabins can be rented for the day or for an entire weekend. Check out their website for capacity per room and outdoor spaces for your next event.
