The Rowlett Chamber of Commerce recently rolled out the red carpet for one of its newest members Tru & Eve Hair Studio with a ribbon cutting that was as full of energy as the salon itself. Located in the heart of downtown Rowlett at 3900 Main Street, Suite 300, the boutique salon, founded by the vivacious Stephanie Kingsolver, has quickly become a destination for those seeking elevated beauty experiences in a cozy, stylish environment.

Stephanie’s Vision Becomes Reality
Founder Stephanie Kingsolver, a hair stylist and extension specialist with over 20 years of experience, trained at Paul Mitchell before stepping out to create her own dream space.
“We are a full-concept salon,” Stephanie shared, brimming with enthusiasm. “We do lashes, eyebrows, extensions, barbering—you name it. Yes, we finally have a barber shop in downtown Rowlett. Hallelujah, it is so exciting! We have a full, talented staff. We are educated, eager, and can’t wait to see every single one of our citizens.”
What started as a vision just over a year ago has blossomed into something clients travel hours to experience. Think vintage vibes with modern chic—Audrey Hepburn elegance, but with Wi-Fi and a curated product lounge. The new Product Lounge pairs a luxury haircare line, Milbon, with a drink menu designed to make your appointment feel more like an indulgent escape than an errand.
The Power of Education & Talent
Among the talented team is Leslie Hilger, a Regional Redken Educator who brings world-class expertise to Rowlett. She not only works behind the chair but also trains stylists across Texas and Oklahoma on advanced techniques and product education. “It’s about collaboration, not competition,” she explained, highlighting the culture Tru & Eve cultivates.
Need a barber? Ask for Mady. Her services include beard trims, face shaves, and grey blending—soon offered in an authentic vintage barber chair. She described the barber experience as more than a haircut: “It’s artistry, connection, and confidence all rolled into one.”
Stylists Kaycie and Addi bring their own flair—Kaycie with her sweet, bubbly approach and keen ear for clients, and Addi with her artistic eye and “bomb” blowouts. Kristin, the Lead Lash Artist and Esthetician, expands the salon’s full-service offerings with lash lifts and brow laminations.
Meet the Manager Who Started as a Client
Then there’s Corinna Slamons, the new Salon Manager, who laughed as she told me her “Hair-Larious” journey.
“After six years of showing up like clockwork for my pixie trims, I was here so often people thought I already worked here. Now it’s official!” she shared. “I love the energy, the people, and the magic that happens in this space.”
Corinna has an eye for matching clients with the right stylist. She emphasized the importance of realistic expectations when showing inspiration photos: “Social media is the new business card for stylists. Bring one clear photo, not four different styles. A good stylist will guide you on what suits your face shape, lifestyle, and hair health.”
Her practical advice didn’t stop there. She spoke passionately about scalp health: “If your hair feels like a dry noodle—it needs moisture. If it’s stretchy like an overcooked noodle—you need protein. That’s why we recommend Milbon’s moisture or repair sets, plus their primer that doubles as a heat protectant and leave-in conditioner. It keeps your ends healthier and reduces salon visits.”
More Than Just a Salon Visit

As Stephanie and her team reminded me, finding the right stylist can be stressful. But here, you’re not just matched with a chair—you’re welcomed into a community of talent, collaboration, and creativity.
