As the festive season unfolds in Rockwall County, our cherished tradition of selecting a 7-foot tree from Kadee Christmas Tree Farm continues to be one of our favorite experiences. The delightful staff at the farm, with their infectious cheer, makes the experience memorable.

Kadee Christmas Tree Farm boasts an extensive array of cut-your-own and pre-cut trees, catering to all budgets (ranging from $45.00 to $299.00). Find them at 5054 Highway 69 South (7 Miles), Greenville, TX 75402. Open on Friday after Thanksgiving from 10am to 7pm, Saturday from 10am to 7pm, and Sunday from 10am to 7pm. Stay updated on their latest offerings and seasonal merriment by following them on Facebook.

The farm has evolved over the years, introducing additional attractions like a holiday light walk, a cozy fire pit, and photo sessions with Santa. Venture into their barn to encounter a variety of animals, while the gift shop beckons with treasures such as ornaments, fresh wreaths, homemade jellies, local honey, and delectable treats.

Meet Charlotte, our newest family member, a 3-month-old kitten adopted from the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center. She’s brought immense joy with her laid-back demeanor, love for hide-and-seek, and playful interactions. As we navigate through finding the perfect wet food for her, we’re addressing a minor skin irritation she’s developed.

Our community spirit soared at the McLendon-Chisholm City Hall during the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting. Accompanied by our fire department, special guests Judge Mark Russo and Santa Rodney Lee Jaynes illuminated the night, enchanting children with the timeless tale of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Rumor has it that the elves are considering adding a touch of snow to next year’s festivities!

Throughout Rockwall County, the holiday spirit abounds. Attend parades, contribute to toy drives like Helping Hands, and immerse yourself in the charm of small-town square events. Creative floats at the Rockwall Kiwanis Christmas parade wowed attendees, and various activities, from ice skating at the Harbor to holiday home tours benefiting local organizations, offer something for everyone.

For a musical experience, stop and listen if you come across the Greater Rockwall Youth Symphony (GRYS). Students aged 6-18 showcase their talents in string orchestra, full orchestra, jazz, wind ensemble, and chamber music. Not only do they provide musical joy, but they also engage with the community through performances for seniors, veterans, at-risk youth, and local nonprofits.

Engage in the holiday spirit at the Rockwall County Library, where instructors welcomes all skill levels for crochet, and modern calligraphy classes prepare you for addressing envelopes and crafting greeting cards. Stay informed about upcoming events for all ages through their e-newsletter or website.
