Corban certainly got lots of sweet treats today! Jason took him to get donuts to kick off his birthday. He said he wanted Chick-Fi-La for lunch, but I just could not work it in my schedule to get it ordered in time. So I got him a Sonic kids meal and had lunch with him in his school cafeteria. While I was standing there waiting for him near the entrance as his class lined up for lunch. It was the cutest thing. All the kids were whispering, “Corban your mom is here!” Instead of just waiting in line he darted and came up to me joyfully, “Hey mommy!”
So we walked in and sat on the stage while his classmates marched through to get their lunches. For 30 minutes we gabbed about what he was learning about types of storms. He showed me his birthday sticker. The class sang happy birthday to him and he was gifted two pencils. That’s too cool! When we finished he gathered the wrappers and bags to put in the trash. Which he doesn’t do at home. I told him that now that you are seven you need to do a little bit more around the house. Which he happily said he wanted to. I gave him a hug and a kiss as he marched back with his classmates to class.
After school, his neighbor friends came over to bring him a handmade card and a gift of handmade glitter slime. Totally original and thoughtful.
For dinner, while my daughters had their nuggets and macaroni. Corban made himself a ham and cheese sandwich! My husband did a FB live to invite family and friends to join in celebrating our son as we brought out the oreo cookie ice cream cake (Wal-Mart $14). He was beaming from ear to ear as we all sang him happy birthday and he blew out his seven candles.
Corban wants us to host a dinner at home to celebrate with friends so that is coming soon and it will have a very unique theme.
