There is not one single way to celebrate your mom, but I encourage you to do something that she likes and for her to feel loved by you.
My family joined me Saturday morning for our neighborhood Muffins and Mom event. Each family that pre-registered received a special craft to make a charm bracelet for mom. Black covered table cloths, fresh flowers on the tables, Sloans breakfast bar and a family photo op. It was nice to just sit with a cup of coffee with neighbors, eat a gourmet muffin and watch our kids be kids. The charm bracelet was really nice, but I appreciated getting a family photo the most. Our lifestyle director did a nice job in organizing the catering, welcoming and celebrating mothers. My husband bought little plush pandas for each of my kids so that they will feel special too. On Sunday morning, I actually slept in! My thoughtful husband took our kids with him to the grocery store to pick up a few things like this balloon, my favorite flowers and ingredients to surprise me with homemade waffles. After church, Jason made some side dishes and a pineapple upside down cake to contribute to my in-laws celebration barbecue lunch.
9 Practical Mother’s Day Ideas To Celebrate Her:
1. Do the house chores like cleaning/putting away the dishes, laundry, clean the floors, put the toys away and take out the trash.
2. Car maintenance, oil changes, full tank of gas, windshield wipers, car detailing, etc.
3. Schedule a day of bliss at a Foot Spa.
4. Make her a special meal or her favorite dessert.
5. Do something crafty with her. Visit a DIY Wood Sign Workshop, At Home Painting Kits, hang family photos, etc.
6. Visit the Rosini Winery for brunch, lunch or purchase a Symphony Champagne bottle.
7. Write something poetic in your own handwriting. Tell her how special she is to you and compliment her.
8. If you can’t afford to splurge on a foot spa…get creative and use your hands.
9. Watch Steel Magnolias, Dirty Dancing, Top Gun, or whatever she has been wanting to binge watch.
As I started at the beginning do something that she likes and for her to feel loved by you.
