The day after Thanksgiving, our family kicks off the holiday season with one of our most cherished traditions: cutting our own Christmas tree at Kadee Christmas Tree Farm in Greenville, Texas. This experience not only marks the start of the festive season but also brings us closer as a family, creating memories that last a lifetime.

Getting There Early

My top tip for anyone planning to visit Kadee Christmas Tree Farm is to get there early. The farm opens at 10 AM, and trust me, arriving right when the gates open is key. The early bird truly gets the worm – or in this case, the perfect tree. The farm has a quota for the season, and once it’s met, the fields for choosing and cutting your own tree close. However, there’s always a selection of pre-cut trees available for those who miss out.

Warm Welcomes and Helpful Staff

From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the sweetest staff, eager to help and answer any questions. They hand you a handheld saw and a ticket to attach to your chosen tree. After you cut your tree, it’s hauled to the front where it’s bundled in plastic netting and priced. The ticket is dropped off at the charming Gift Shop where you pay for your tree. The team members are also available to assist in strapping your tree to your vehicle for an extra fee, or you can bring your own strong rope or nylon ratchet straps, an old blanket, and gloves to strap down your tree.

A Fun Day at the Farm

Kadee Christmas Tree Farm isn’t just about the trees; it’s a whole experience! Our kids always enjoy visiting the animals in the barn. The farm offers a rustic, early American atmosphere, perfect for family photos. Beyond the trees, there are fresh garlands and wreaths, artisan gifts, hay rides, a kiddy maze, a play area, and snacks. The old farmhouse adds a touch of nostalgia, making it a picture-perfect spot for capturing holiday memories.

Facilities and Amenities

One important tip for the ladies: make sure to use the restroom before arriving, as the farm only has port-o-potties. While they are clean and well-maintained, a little preparation goes a long way for comfort during your visit.

A Tradition Worth Continuing

As a member of the Texas Christmas Tree Growers Association, Kadee Christmas Tree Farm offers the best of Texas Christmas trees, including Virginia pine trees for choose-and-cut customers and a variety of fir trees imported in refrigerated trucks to ensure freshness. The farm has been a part of the community for nearly 40 years, with visitors spanning three generations.

The farm also supports educational tours, exposing children to farm life, animals, and agriculture.

Frank and Evelyn Bollman, along with James and Tish Woodruff, warmly welcome you to Kadee Christmas Tree Farm. They take pride in helping families create lasting Christmas memories and traditions.
