Crafting the Perfect Mocha Latte at Home

One of the things my husband Jason and I enjoy is exploring new food and drink creations together. We love heating things up in the kitchen, and every now and then, he whips up a fun drink. Today, I’m excited to share a delightful mocha latte recipe he recently taught me.

Now, I’m not a regular coffee drinker, but I do love a good mocha latte or chai tea. If you’re like me and appreciate a touch of chocolate in your coffee, this homemade mocha latte is sure to become a favorite.

Total Time: 7 minutes

What You’ll Need:

  • Your favorite oversized coffee mug
  • A mini mason jar with a screw-on lid
  • Bialetti coffee press or French press
  • Tablespoon
  • Electric cordless kettle
  • Microwave
  • Oven mitts
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Organic milk
  • Coffee grounds

Steps to Make Your Mocha Latte:

Step 1:
Start by filling your kettle and bringing the water to a boil.

Step 2:
Pour ¾ of organic milk into your mason jar.

Step 3:
Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of coffee grounds into the French press.

Step 4:
Pour the hot water from the kettle into the French press, filling it between 4 and 6 cups.

Step 5:
Place the lid on the French press and let the coffee brew for a few minutes.

Step 6:
Put the mason jar filled with milk (without the lid) into the microwave for 1 minute.

Step 7:
Carefully remove the mason jar from the microwave using oven mitts. Screw on the lid, and shake the jar vigorously for about a minute to create frothy milk.

Step 8:
Pour chocolate syrup into the center of your oversized coffee mug.

Step 9:
Slowly press down the lever on the French press to separate the coffee grounds. Pour the freshly brewed coffee into your mug.

Step 10:
Finally, pour the frothy milk from the mason jar into your mug until it reaches the rim. Scoop out the remaining foam and place it on top. If you’re feeling creative, dip a spoon straight down into the foam and lift it to create a simple design.
