The annual Christmas tree lighting at McLendon-Chisholm City Hall continues with stylish decorations to celebrate this community tradition.
It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
Special thanks to Mayor Pro Tem Trudy Woessner who brings her talents of creating a warm cozy Christmas vibe and whimsical inspiration alive! It’s a lot of hard work volunteering to coordinate and making it very inviting in transforming the hall into a winter wonderland.
Woessner says, “No matter what day of the week December 1 falls on that will be the day our city will host this event for our community to gather to enjoy the festivities. This is one of my favorite events of the year and it is a joy to be able to do this.”
What were the activities?
• Movie feature, The Grinch
• Christmas coloring activity
• Deliver a letter to Santa to his mailbox.
• Visit with Santa (Bring your own camera for photos)
• Cookies and Hot Cocoa
Many additional elves like Council Member Lorna Kipphut, BOA Chairwoman Bev Stibbens, and Women In Need Executive Director Jody Wright were on the scene to add to the Christmas magic of providing delicious cookie treats to guests and pouring creamy hot cocoa with whip cream.
Our favorite mobile Santa Rodney Lee Jaynes came to town bringing his cheerful spirit and read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to guests.
We are really blessed to have Rodney who is brilliant with his character, friendly and great with kids. It’s so nice and convenient to be able to take some photos right in our small town without any hassles.
Outside the City Hall there is a Christmas Tree that is also lit up for those who wish to take photos outdoor too!
Toys for Tots Toy Drive has provided a box for those who would like to bless a child with a toy and our McLendon-Chisholm Fire Rescue is hosting an annual food drive where you can donate a canned good.
Below is my IG Reel that I decided to incorporate a playful song by Meghan Trainer Holly Jolly Christmas! I hope you have a holly jolly Christmas friends!
