SKIP THESE RESTAURANTS
Ottos
We called ahead to make reservations, however, we were told walk-in seating is on a first come, first served basis for indoor and outdoor patio seating. The evening was quite cold and drizzly but we wanted fine dining to celebrate our anniversary. As I waited for attention from the “busy hostess” to acknowledge me who was very quick to pass me at least 5 times without a pleasant greeting. When my husband arrived from parking our car the hostess person finally spoke up to let us know that there was nothing available for TWO HOURS. There was at least two spots at the bar and 2 spots on the patio. This restaurant that they want to call an “intimate fine dining location” is essentially a shiplap house with a renovated “large family room” with a built-in bar and small dining space. The covered patio is extended upon what used to be the front yard to add more dining area. Definitely not ideal seating when it is rainy and cold. Most locals complain about it being a hit or miss and frankly I’m glad we didn’t stay after listening and reading the reviews. I’m all for farm to table cuisine, but I don’t recommend paying for attitude and misleading staff.
Java Ranch
The outdoor sign, the wall menu and the website is a tourist trap. So misleading on the provisions available and there was self serve bland coffee. There was a western style interior at the front of the shop, but it didn’t flow with the rest of the space. There was an interesting mural. No avocado toast, no cream cheese for the bagels and minimal pastries were available. It’s possible they are going through a managerial transition.
