It was so nice to attend a labor day barbecue catered by former Rockwall Mayor Jim Pruitt and Rockwall County District Attorney Kenda Culpepper. All these years I have been missing out on good eats!!! The most important thing that I left from this event with is peace. I was so busy having great conversation with a variety of people that I honestly forgot to take more selfies. Either way, we need more face to face events.
Lots of good work being done inside Rockwall County, as well as, enthusiastic people looking to bring solutions and/or volunteer opportunities. It was good to hear from fellow patriots as we discussed the Constitution and being proactive in our community so that we do not fall into what many cities are going through with unconstitutional mandates to constant division.
Jim Pruitt is running for office of Rockwall County Commissioner Place 2. If you are in Precinct 2 this is important for you to know who is running and has the expertise to manage this honorable position. Below is highlights of the role in case you needed a civics refresher.
The Texas Constitution specifies that the Commissioner’s Court is the governing body of the County and is to carry out the administrative and judicial responsibilities for the State, as well as a growing number of permissive authorities. To learn more of the main functions performed by the Commissioner’s visit the Rockwall County website.
Texas Prosecutor of the Year
One of the things that I love about Kenda is she is so enthusiastic for public service. She has a contagious charisma and has the ability to handle high-pressure situations. Yes, experience is key and having a law degree too. She was on a state task force to keep judicial proceedings moving forward during this madness. Blue Ribbon News published an announcement of her being named Texas Prosecutor of the Year. There is quite a long list of legal exceptional accomplishments and awards since she became a Texas lawyer.
A district attorney has a number of duties to represent the state in prosecuting felony criminal cases, works with law enforcement officers in the investigation of criminal cases, presents cases to grand juries, and represents victims of violence in protective orders and represents the state in removing children from abusive households.
Both Jim and Kenda are two people that I hope you will find protect our God-given freedoms, support taking personal responsibility and to strive to building others up to do good work in our growing community.
